If anyone is at the yard on Saturday and has nothing to do, we are having a graduation party for my son at a park in Warren Mi. There will be plenty of food on hand if anyone wants to come. Can email me for directions [email protected] or get with Steve Wolfe. He will be around the yard tomorrow and Saturday morning before coming over. I hope to see you there.

Something about the sun streaming in the windows at 5 in the morning feels obscene. It should come with hot coffee served in bed!

Thank you to the person upstairs who just reset my time on a Friday in an already bad area bumping me to the bottom of the queue. I make a smart decision for my business and am punished for it. I notice you are quick to say what the pay per mile rate was on the turn down but did not provide me that info on the phone. Much appreciated and since you have most likely never drove so you understand a little better because of where the load was going I would have had to deadhead the entire distance back to where I started making it a dumb business decision to accept the load as I tried to explain to you on the phone.

are the different emailed pay sheets the last two weeks just a glitch or will this be the norm. getting two summaries one for trips and one for layover and empty moves and reimbursements then a actual pay sheet at the end.

I have had that happen several times, getting a turn down that stated the load pay in the reasons column when pay was not even mentioned. along with other reasons not even mentioned or discussed. It gets out of hand, the one person that is doing this.I have just learned to keep my mouth shut, as not to be on a poop list with that person...

I'm not disputing the turn down itself, but put the honest truth in the reason for turn down column at least. That's what fries my biscuit!

They are to record turn downs per company policy. If you turned the load down without asking rate I am not sure what it matters. In this case their was a note saying driver wanted something longer. It is the policy it hasn't changed. We record them for a number of reasons and we try to use this information to evaluate for operations and sales.

Honestly you can and do turn loads down. I find it hard to believe people are upset if we record the information. I see everyone talking about running their business and making decisions and such. Did we all forget that we also have a business to run on our end?

Do we have a scoring system like some other companies? If so is there a way we can check it?

No scoring, you can see turn downs on fleet vision and looks at your idle time to see if you were also bumped to the bottom of the queue.

The truth is what matters. Not only does a false statement create a false record and false impression, if it's ever questioned at a later date it's impossible to address, much less defend.

If it's important enough to record the turndown, then it should be equally as important to accurately record it.

To date at Load One I have yet to turn a load. I do, however, have two turndowns, for one load, that I didn't turn down, that we didn't even book. Yay! :D

The rate on the load is the rate? The load was booked. Unit turned it down, turn down info recorded. Another unit took the load and ran it. Comment was driver turned down due to personal choice wanted something with more miles. The rate is listed. Not sure what the issue with any of this would be?

I have no issue with the truth. I see nothing untruthful about this.

I have no problem with turn downs in theory. I do have a big problem with resetting hours. The current system is not administered in a fair and even manner. If person is going to type in the rate on the turn down should he not also tell the driver the rate without being asked. I told the person I would have to dh back to where I currently am being a waste of money. He tried to convince me why it would be a good load to take proving he did not fully understand what I had said. He did not put the reason I turned down that load being where it ended as the reason which I explained. The exact same miles going to a better area I would have taken even for less money.

Until loads are offered to every person in order of the queue and turn downs are given to each that say no the system is flawed. When those who rarly say no are bumped when they do instead of people who often say no being dismissed we are being penalized for the action of a few.

Both loads they called me on yesterday I said yes they did not secure them does my record show those accepts. The day before I accepted a load to a bad area that I knew I was going to have to dh 200 miles to my current location after completing. Now I don't want to take a load that I will have a 240 mile dh after to get out of another bad area and use my entire Friday.

Just a turn down no problem so they know I should not be eligible for layover pay and be able to track if I am performing well. Being bumped because of it is wrong.

I know many of us are concerened about load 1s business as a whole and often make decisions with that in mind.

This is the system that was set up to try and keep everything fair and trucks in a fair order. We seem to debate the merits of it every time a unit does not like it.

Honestly, I can not win on this topic. Every driver I talk to has a different opinion of what they believe is fair. I can change it a hundred times and we will be right back to the same place. We put the system in with driver input. The drivers did not like not having a system and the cherry picking. We have modified and tweaked the system based on driver input.

It is a no win situation and some days we just have to vent as drivers and move on. But IMHO maybe not as designed but as carried out the system is flawed.
