liberal bias in the media.

Ok so here is a link from the Huff post Already it is blaming the republicans for the shortage of funding that FEMA is experiencing and that its about to get much worse. With democrats backing the story up.

Louisiana Congressman: GOP 'Sinful' To Tie Disaster Aid To Spending Cuts

Now what the HUFF POST does not tell its readers is that back in june The republican in controll of the house passed a Homeland security funding bill that included one billion dollars in emergency funding for FEMA.It also does not ell its readers that the bill has been sitting in the senate for almost three months.Whats the hold up well the Obama administration wants to allow ALL TSA RENT-A-COPS to join a union. This funding bill bars that from happening.Lets face it of all the federal workers these goons are the last people that should be protected union right.

So my whole point is that even though some belive every word of what the liberal media says this is not only true bias at its finest it is also out right lies.

This can be applied to other forms of media, like conservative blogs and Fox news.

No one source is immune to bias when reporting the news.

Relying on FOX or the Huffington Post for your news is like relying on a treasure map from a cracker jack box for directions.

I feel the same way about any news outlet owned by NBC.However sometimes even they are the only ones reporting something.

But you are pointing out one side of a two sided problem.

yeah I read the title and trying to say what's the big whoop ... we all know there is liberal bias and some forget that there is the opposite bias and seem to believe the opposite side doesn't lie or spin the facts. Maybe it should say bias in the media?

I'm still trying to find the bias. I know it's there, I just can't see it. The story seems to be about one democrat in particular whining about one republican in particular.

Well you can view it that way or you can view it that the Huffington post is the source so it has to be spun against the republican.

It's only a problem if you're not aware of the bias. I think the vast majority of those who read/watch the Huff Post or Fox news do so because they fall into the ideological camp those sources pander to.

It's not as if those who watch Fox News are being swayed against Obama. All Fox is doing is pandering to a long held set of beliefs of its audience. The inverse is of course true of the Liberal sources like the Huff Post.

If you're aware of the bias, you obviously know to take what you hear with a grain of salt.

It's nothing new, its all to serve the "Agenda" of each side...i personally think it serves to incite and add fuel to the discourse...:) I try and do it quite often....:D

You make it sound so even. Huff-Left, Fox-Right. How bout Huff-left, CNN-left, PMSNBC-left, ABC-left, NBC-left, CBS-left, Fox-slightly right. Then, if you want to get into print media, we have another ball of wax. The biggies are all left.

I never said it was an even dynamic. I'd say it's pretty close. For every liberal media source, I can find a comparable conservative one..For instance, New York has the NY times which leans left and the NY Post which tends to lean right. Now, is it a perfect balance? Probably not.

I wonder where Pravda sits in that left/right list?

I think the last time I read a Pravda article, it was bashing the left leaning congress for not helping the economy by making tax changes a law with no renewal.

As far as newspaper sources there is as huge disparity leaning left. In the blogoshere not so much. On network news you have Fox News who leans right, but gives an opposing viewpoint in EVERY show they have on. The rest of network news leans left like CNN,CBS,ABC. Now NBC is in a separate category. The socialist whitehouse mouthpiece network.:D

I don't know that there's that big a disparity in print media. Off the top of my head, there's the Washington Post, The New York Post, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette which are all right-leaning. You also have the Wall Street Journal which tends to pander more to the Country Club/Wall Street Republican Crowd.

The one undisputable disparity is that virtually all of these main stream media sources (left and right) are pro establishment/pro status quo.
