I was sitting between the walmart and the theater off of I805 and Palm ave if I remember right. The thing is, it is very busy at night on the weekends and if you park out of the way, no body bothers you.

If you really want somewhere quiet and you won't be bothered, find one of the casino's and park there. No one gives you a second look! (I forget which one we parked at when we were laid over)

Go North about 20 miles to a town called Encintas.Get off I5 and go west torwards the ocean, after you pass hwy 101 on your lhs overlooking the beach is a large lot that RV,s park in. If you don't have a T/T you should be OK. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance.

Unfortunately San Diego only has one truck stop which doesn't have any truck parking at the site, but there is plenty of street parking through the industrial park. The truck stop has only fuel and port-a-johns. Take the 24th st exit off of I-5. head west. There is plenty of street parking throughout that area.

We park there when we go and visit family in San Diego.
