Seems there was NO suspect in custody, (as reported), there was no additional explosive devices, (as reported). there was no injured suspect in the hospital under guard, (as reported.)
Which is why I didn't comment on it yesterday .. and still am not today. Still a lot to figure out here.

It is extremely sad - a tragedy, in fact. Whether it was aimed at "this country" [the implication being a grudge against the US] or not is still unknown, but either way, it's pretty bad.
Senseless violence aimed at innocents makes people angry, and they deal with anger in different ways. I'm glad people have a place to 'let off steam', and get some feedback on their thoughts.
That's my penny in the pond.

This SHOULD have been a thread to allow people to express their feelings on THIS bombing. That is one reason it should have been in this forum as opposed to the soap box. Too bad it did not stay that way.

Must be quite something to possess such a level of arrogance as to presume tell others - particularly the OP or starter of a thread - what their threads ought to be about ...
Or how people ought to go about expressing their feelings (or more importantly: their thoughts) in regards to this bombing ...
I suppose the only way that it might get anymore ironic would be if the person issuing such edicts had a long and storied history of injecting inane and distracting comments into threads that they weren't actually otherwise participating in ...
In that case it would indeed become utterly hilarious ...
Of course, one could also throw in a little authoritarian inclination ... whereby someone was motivated and inclined to limit or control discussion in a politically-correct manner - one which specifically didn't offend their own sacred cows ... but that would just be icing on the irony cake so to speak ...

Well ... actually ... the way I read the forum descriptions it seems to me that the Loading Dock would have probably been the more (most ?) appropriate forum for the topic to have been started in. Compare and contrast the description of the Loading Dock:
with that of the General Expedite forum:
It seems to me that most everything that really would fall under the stated descriptions of the General Forums appear to actually have something to do with Expediting directly - IOW, the General Forums claim to be more or less industry-specific ...... whereas the Loading Dock and Soap Box do not necessarily have anything to do with Expediting per se ...
Since the OP of this thread announced the topic as "news" and posted no stated opinion on the matter, nor did he somehow tie it into Expediting Industry, it seems to me that the Loading Dock probably would have been the most appropriate forum ... at least based on the various stated descriptions of the individual forums and the claimed purpose ...
I do understand however that there might be some motivation to post it in the General Forum ... perhaps for reasons of broadest visibility, and/or to elicit the widest participation ...

You are correct. I was upset when I heard this, I posted it in the first forum I came to. This obviously is current events mixed with politics, and would have been better in either of the two you mentioned, but because of the political ramifications, I am moving it to the Soapbox.

Thank you for posting it - your post was actually the first thing that either my wife or I had heard about it.
They killed one of them tonight....massive manhunt underway for the second one. Apparently they were both together when found...one fled.
If anyone is in the Boston area...anywhere near Watertown, take cover and stay alert, get informed....they are serious.

AP report say one of the terrorists found cover overnight in the box of a white-glove truck. unfortunately, one of the team driver got up early because he had to pre-freeze the box for -40*. imagine the look on the face of the shipper when they opened the swing doors for loading...
