Is it really worth it to come to Laredo in a cv, if u get stuck here for 7 days? Some drivers sit here 10 days,,mercy.

Depends.

If you want to pick up work transporting "special cargo" that you have to feed on the way to their destination, then yes it can be a lucrative place to go.

Cheer up, Sky - you could be freezing yer youknowwhat off, [as I am]!
Besides, loads out of there are usually worth the wait. Well, unless you're TJP, lol.
PS thanks for letting me use your van as a ladder - 'preciate it. :)

I have never had a problem getting out of Laredo in a cargo van,or any border town, for that matter.ASE does pretty good at getting them out.The longest I have sat down there was 2 days max.And that was when it was jammed up with straights and vans there.

While Bolt did decent job of getting cv's out of Laredo or any of the border towns, I never sat there longer then 3 days..I refuse to do that anywhere...I use to give Bolt 36 hours, not including the weekends to get me loaded or id move on my own...with Load 1 that has changed to 48 hours because they pay us to sit for that long...then most often if they haven't loaded you within close to that amount of time ( longer but depending on locations) they will pay us to move....

So noo I am never have and never will spend 7 days anywhere waiting on a load....thats just nuts...it cost money ti sit like that....

Been there, done that. Never did get the T-shirt. Cheri, maybe you should invest in a ladder or at the very least, platform shoes.

I guess I won't be expecting any donations from you to help support my Ban The Van movement in the coming year.

Unless your broke, why would anyone sit for more then 48 hours in one spot?.

1. It's a weekend.

2. You made a killing on the inbound load and can afford to wait a day or two.

3. You're in a nice vacation spot and decide to take a day or two off for some r & r.

4. You really are in the best freight area within a 500 mile radius and things are just a bit slow. If there's no place better within a day's drive, why move?

5. Or you're making enough off your other trucks that you can afford to wait for a great load. That was me before I came off the road. I was picky when I was making something off the other units and I would often spend a couple days hanging around a place I like until I got what I wanted.

There are plenty reasons someone would sit for a couple days, some good and some not, but it's really up to each driver, depending on the goals he has and what he wants to do in this business.
