My sister was a teacher and she went through the great technology scam in the school district she taught at. She was disgusted with the idea that there is a need to push technology onto students who have yet grasped the basic on their own. One thing that she pointed out is the fact that many public schools can not properly teach without getting the approval of administrators and they are the ones who are pushing the use of the computer more than ever.
She also pointed out that private schools have a greater success rate with laptops and computers than public schools by far. the one reason for this is the fact that private schools are more focused on out come of the student which the public schools are. I have to agree with her seeing the difference in the three types of students first hand in the work place, Home Schooled, Private Schooled and Public Schooled the best in that order.
Technology can't make people smarter. They need to know the basics and then how to use the tools that are supposed that allow the enhancment of their knowledge.
