Any body know if. You can use your laptop to locate problems. Specifically FL M2 MBE900 .

I`ve bout had it with Fl diagnosing those faults. Especially when, it only turns out t be a corroded horn wire.

Yes you can.

The interface is the most expensive part if you want to look at the fault codes, but if you want to modify the ECM settings, then that will cost you a lot.

The cheapest dependable interface I have yet seen is about $400. You can get one of them $100 interfaces which actually costs $5 to build but I have yet seen one that lasted more than a month of use.

Huh? you meant the truck or the interface?

The truck can but the ECM and other computers are setup for J1939/J**** CAN bus by the nature of the beast. I have seen a couple of interfaces use USB instead of a DB9 serial connection and one of the most expensive one I seen uses a parallel connection of all things - I am speaking of after market interfaces, when you get into the engine manufacture stuff, thats where it gets to be costly.

The other problem I have been hearing is that some think in order to use USB they have to have specific HID numbers and drivers, but that's not the case. I got one here that does not and as soon as I am done testing it, I may just start selling it with the software I have.

By the way, anyone using Cummins Insite in the EO world?

$400 is not too bad considering FL Monkeys charge 2 or 3 hundred just to find a corroded connection.

How would one set this up?
