Laptop burning a hole in your lap?!

I can't believe how hot laptops get!!! We just bought a cooling device from Walmart that works great! It only cost 24.99 and plugs in through your USB connection (doesn't need to be plugged into the wall which is great because thats one less cord to worry about). The device is a small plastic piece about the length and width of a laptop and is light as a feather. It has two small fans that suck the heat away from your computer. No more burning lap!

My Dell dosen`t get hot enough to be uncomfortable. I am concerned about the vent holes on the bottom. In order to give adequate ventilation I bought a vinyl pad with a dimpled surface like a door mat. The one I have is intended t be a kitty scratching pad and works perfectly.(Cut down to size of course)

Thanks for posting this lisalewis as my Dell does get uncomfortably hot on my lap and in the summer it is brutal.

I use a laptop tray for kids, ($5 at Wallyworld), that has a raised edge for air circulation, and a snap on bean filled cushion underneath. The cushion is removeable, to double as a neck pillow.

My Dell is running all the time on my passenger seat and does not get hot. I have a Targus Chill Pad that I bought for my old computer. I use it under the Dell but I never have to plug it in.
