I had enough with Panther ..today was my 15th day in Detroit without getting nothing...When I called driver relation they told me from tommorrow there will be no boards and I should be happy to be at home...that's atitude from a lady in driver relation she treat me lika I was her employee..I'm not..I'm the one who's paying... not Panther..good luck to you all

Somehow, I don't think anyone who could sit in Detroit for 15 days is "self motivated", but best of luck to you, Remus - I think you're gonna need it...

I have to agree with Cheri, why would anyone sit in one area for 15 days??

Good luck with Landstar.

Good Luck.

I'm hoping that your wrong about LEAM hiring vans now. There are about 150 vans on now and only 30 to 40 are loaded, at best, at any given moment.
They have way too many vans for their needs.
The opposite is true for straight trucks. The straight truck fleet is way down and they could use more units.

As stated Above, landstar is for self motivated business minded people, if you are that type of person, you will do fine, I honestly don’t believe that will work for you, I mean 15 days, have you lost your mind? If one can afford to sit still in this business for that time frame that is not self-motivated...you might be sitting at home or where ever but in this business if the wheels are not moving neither is the cash flow, quit whinning to panther, get in you van and move that truck to a spot where there is a better option for loads. You could have moved 13 days ago, been in a different location and allowed your self better load options.
Complaining about your carrier and throwing a pity party for yourself will do you no good, get pro-active in your business and make the move to further make you business grow, if it includes deadheading to another location, then thats what needs to be done.
I know the thing you are thinking now is...well its not my fault, Panther has too many vans...prolly true, so what does that leave you to do? well re-read the top of this and thats what you do.
Good luck in what ever you decide to do.

Hold up folks if you think somebody is going to find your loads with LEAM it isn’t going to happen.

It is quite similar to running your own authority without the set up costs.

Whiners and complainers don't seem to be successful with LEAM.

Positive minded folks are the successful people with LEAM.

With a lot of hard work the grass is greener with LEAM

John, thanks.

Remus, I don't want to be an A** about this but I got to say it.

I know you live in the Detroit area and I have sat for 10 days too but if you are promoting Landstar and dropping panther, isn't there something wrong with your philosophy on this issue - sitting waiting for a load from panther opposed to being with Landstar where you would normally be proactive, wouldn't it been better to move the van somewhere like you would with Landstar to get moving?

It seems that there is something just plain wrong.

As for them taking cargo vans - no they are not taking on cargo vans.

Also just for a few who think it is easy to get in, it is not.

No offense remus but I never would have made any money in expedite if I had your attitude. I usually always had to deadhead out from home to get started. I would stay out of service for about 2 days then go in service at home for about a day then get an empty move to the memphis board where I could actually get a load and visit with my mom at the same time. Yes deadheading sucks, but sitting for 15 days is even worse. That's why you put money back so you can deadhead out of the bad areas. You could have spent maybe 40-50 bucks (depending on unit) and been in a better area. I'm sorry I think you just want to complain. I'll admit I had my complaints with Panther but I left them due to problems with the owner of the truck I was driving. Do you think Panther would hire you back? That's the thing every company I've drove for in the past would take me back. I've had one of the smaller companies call me yesterday asking me to cover a load while I'm out of school but I can't because I'm not clear to drive yet, but Jan is fast approaching. All I'm saying is don't burn bridges because you never know when you will may have to cross them again.

remus, while I was at Panther today taking care of truck business I looked into your situation and why you only received 3 offers in 15 days as you told us. This isn't the place to go into what I found on load offers. It isn't the place for being unprofessional either and your post starting this thread is definitely unprofessional. Just because you didn't find a match at Panther doesn't mean they aren't a good company for some. They aren't perfect and aren't right for everyone. News flash, Landstar isn't perfect and isn't right for everyone. News flash number two, you can substitute any company name and have a true statement.

LDB, I'm wondering how "professional" one could be considered when they make it their concern to "look into" someone else's load offers, etc. with their carrier?

Am also wondering if one would consider the sharing of such information with someone other than the contractor to be law suit material?

The information we choose to share here is by our decision alone. Guaranteed if someone were to go poking around in my business with my carrier, we're gonna have a big problem.

I know this is off subject but why is everyone so law suit happy around here? Is that how you all handle business, by sueing one another? I have a good feeling he was trying to see what positive changes could be made. Plus I think he is on the driver's council or whatever they call it so it's partly his job to make sure the drivers are getting taken care of and if they aren't talk to the powers that be to get some changes made. I just get so sick and tired of every time someone says something that someone else doesn't like they are threatening to sue. You are like a bunch of kids. I know I'm a redneck, but when I was kid and someone said something to me I didn't like I just gave him a shiner on the eye.I didn't threaten to sue them. You can't let words hurt your feelings.Especially by someone you most likely don't even know. If your feelings were hurt that bad how is money going to make you feel better? This whole mess about emtional distress and slander is bs. No one hasn't said anything about him that he hasn't said about himself. IMO the fact that remus said he sat in ne area for 15 days would hurt him on getting a job if the perspective employer reads this site. Plus he is a grown a$$ man let him fight his own battles. Why do people have to be constantly defending others. Let them defend themselves first. If I offened you I guess you can threaten to sue me for hurt feelings. Where I'm from we don't do that mess.
