There is a forum for Panther and FedEx, how about one for Landstar? This old Con-Way Now team got out 7 months before the sale of CWN because of extreme unhappiness with a certain dispatcher there. Now two years with Landstar and we are suffering the same crunch as everyone else. Loads are so-so, but freight rates have stagnated while fuel, well we all know about that. It is a major pinch to our net income. Why does Landstar pay its big truck drivers 76% of 98% of the load's gross pay, while the Express drivers get only 62% of the load's gross. On a $1000 load gross that is about $124 less. Their business model fits my personality, and they are picky about who they sign on. On the whole, a nice outfit to be with.
