K.C. Petro - nice

Laid over in Kansas City and thought I'd share a nice truckstop for those that don't know about it (as me before I got here). There's a nice Petro just a few miles east of K. C. and I'd give it a thumbs up. I-70 (exit 28) in Oak Grove, MO.

Get out of the sun in their FREE movie theatre (actually dvd's on a large screen playing all the time), drivers lounge with comfortable chairs and decent tv, FREE WiFi (using it right now). Laundry is reasonable ($1.50/load) when compared to other stops I've seen.

Across the street is a McD's, a very nearby Wallyworld.

Siskel & Ebert might not give it a thumbs up - then again, they were never expediters

I think that's the Petro with the homemade tomato soup.Pretty darn good. Always good to see free wifi where you don't expect it.

That is very near the OOIDA headquarters where they will show you around and you can renew your membership or upgrade to a lifetime membership.

That Petro is under the ownsership of the same folks that have the "Taj Mahal" in the corn up at Walcott. I shopped a few items and found them to be too expensive for my tastes.

Makes a great place to look at what you want, then buy it somewhere else!

While it is nice for Zack100 to give an endorsement of the Oak Grove Petro it is a travesty that he did not mention the most important amenity to be found there. The one counter that had a constant line of drivers waiting to take advantage.
That's right, I am talking about Dairy Queen of course.:D

There is always a line at the Dairy Queen. The nice thing about that Petro they have lots of parking. We also like the restaurant as well.

We usually go here after visiting the OOIDA offices as Leo has mentioned. We like to stop by and say Hi! to the people we know and meet new people. OOIDA has lots of parking for T/T as well as straight trucks. They always welcome new people and enjoy taking everyone around on a tour. Well worth your time to stop in and renew your membership or get a new one.

we stopped there a couple months back. gracie went in to get the second chance points and the manager told her straight out he didn't have time for that. that was the last straw in our t-a loyalty program.
