According to the IRS, I work for myself. That is my opinion as well.

At another level, I work for the Landstar agents and carrier that pay for my services. To them, I am purchased transportation. I provide the service, they pay for it.

At still another level, I work for the shippers who place freight on my truck and the consignees who receive it. They do not pay me directly, they pay Landstar, but I serve them as if they did.

I work for my family, the IRS as they like my money too. Really I work for myself leased to a carrier who gives us loads for our trucks and I also find my own freight.

Not a single person has answered the question that was asked....

Quite sure LRT was just wondering who it was one might be contracted with. Answers he was probably expecting should have been "I work/drive for Panther, for Bolt, for Ma & Pa's 40 cent a mile cutrate trucking co", and so on.

So, just as no one ever answers how much they make/made, (except Phil who came out and truthfully showed us what he made in 30 days recently), I guess this question presented here should be filed in the "waste of time" drawer. :p

To keep this going, I got another question. A question that might get answered truthfully and not spun, and again, might not get answered without spinnnnn. We'll see.......

What color of socks do you prefer to wear? :D

If you look at the way he worded the question, I think the responses are exactly the kind of answer he had in mind. I think it would be a good time to hear the OP's take on it.

I wear white socks. (Big toothy smilie!)

I don't think LRT is asking who you work for as far as carrier, I think we will get a creative answer here pretty soon. It's really not that hard to figure out the carrier someone hauls for most here have it on their profile.
