It's been 6 months since I left the expedite biz, and I thought I'd come back to check things out. I see that a lot of the "old timers" are still here. Seems most are doing decent and don't have a lot of complaints.
I sold my d unit and bought a class 8 tractor and went back to yankin' a tanker. The pay is better and pretty steady which is a big difference from x-pedite. After 20 years of big truck driving, the d unit thing was GREAT, park just about anywhere, nice ride and good fuel mileage. But the carrier hassles, sporadiac pay and rate gouging was getting old.
I met some of the nicest people doing expedite and on this forum and just thought I'd say hi. I learned a lot on this forum and it is people like you who make the expedite biz bearable.
If you see me on the road, give me a yell and I'll buy the coffee.
I drive a 99 International hood that is black with gold stripes and a LOT of LED lights. Altom Transport will be on the door. There are a few of us out there, but I am the only one with a big bunk binder and the led's.
Take care and make them bucks when you can.
