I had the wonderfull expierence of the most discusting truck stop in America! Just want to give you all the warning to avoid this place. I believe it is run by the same company that runs the Bollingbrook Truck Stop.
One must purchase 100 gallons at $2.89 a gallon as of Wednesday March, 14. You will than recieve either a free shower or 24 hours free parking $6.00 every 12 hours. Purchase 75 gallons and you recieve 12 hours free not 24, 50 gallons you do not even get a thank you. The fuel island was covered in Diesel fuel thick and no avoiding standing in it, the pumps have not been cleaned off in months. The automatic card readers do not work.
Restaurant was dirty and old. Looked like at one time it was a decent place, I was starving so I ordered a sandwhich food was the only thing fair and fair is all I could give it. Than after eating (washed my hands in my truck before going in to eat) I went to use the restroom after I paid.
Entering the facility to pay for the fuel not the restaurant you are greeted by a 10 foot long old food warmer, full of BUGS dead of course. But should have been my first warning.
The bathroom STUNK to high heaven. Gross the sinks were just Nasty, it was so dirty I did not use anything in there I just looked around in disbeliefe. These floors had not been mopped in weeks, the toilets well, I will not describe how nasty this was. The health dept. would shut them down as this is Germ Warfare at its best. Had I visited this first I would have walked out even if I had ordered.
It gets better, you pay to park in a lot full of junk cars, instead of designating an area for locals to park there cars they line outer boundry of the lot. Dropped trailers that have been left there for months, trash, urine bottles everywhere.
The only reason this is still a truck stop is to squeeze every last dollar out of us as they are sitting on millions in the large lot for future developement, and they figure screw the drivers since there is no where else to lay over. For that I applaude them, for the filth and treatment to drivers I am warning YOU, avoid this dump I will drive to Monika or Morris next time.
