Yea this is the same guy that while he is the Director of National Intelligence didn't know about a major terrorist arrest in London (12 terrorist) and then later his office worked to cover his butt saying that he hadn't been "briefed' on the arrest before the interview.....

From what i have heard since this latest thing, this guy was a great military commander and was topshelf...seems he is either not suited for a "desk job' or maybe a bit of senility is setting in...either way, he doesn't seem to have a firm grip on the situation....in one case, it my be a ego thing that keeps him there, in the other, well its a sad thing and should be dealt with..

James Clapper better be at the top of his game asINTEL chief.. This is not a job for a beginner, case in point EGYPT, its looks as if we were caught flat footed and supprised by this. Time to get serious about INTEL.

Clapper is the type of guy that we should expect to be put in a critical position by a junior senator who has no experience whatsoever in executive level decision making. Clapper is probably handicapped by staffers that are just as incompetent as our Commander in Chief - but that's on him. Obama and his minions have appeared astonishingly clueless and ineffective in front of the whole world during this Egypt event. Hopefully he can stumble through the next two years without causing a major disaster.

To follow up on Pilgrim's point, we can now expect Obama to step forward and try to absorb praise and credit for the revolution in Egypt. Of course, Obama and his crew were woefully clueless (one moment standing by Mubarak, the next moment loudly proclaiming Mubarak must go). Rather than take an undeserved victory lap, the Obama administration should begin a shake-up of the current foreign policy team. Leon Panetta should be offered a different job. For the time being, Obama will try to milk this situation for any personal benefit he can get. The guy is a national embarrassment. We need regime change here in the United States.

Speaking of "the one" speaking on the revolution in Egypt, it's really hard to listen to him saying that Mubarak MUST listen to his people :rolleyes:......the uproarious debate on healthcare comes to mind.......
