Me, I have some things to do Sunday. I will be back in service early Monday morning. If I am working over the 4th, so be it. Being that the 4th falls on a Wednesday doesn't really make it a weekend so...
Loads originating from LTL carriers should be plentiful Tuesday and Thursday. Have fun whatever you are doing and wherever you are!

Worked on Sat and got home late afternoon. Sunday is laundry, oil change, clean out truck, buy beer, and I'm sure the old lady will dream up some other stuff.
Monday is a holiday here in canuck land so no loads I know of. Already have a load for tuesday though.

I'm at home and in-service but don't really expect a whole lot to be going on over the next week - probably spend most of my time working around the place trying to get caught up. I have to do a brake job on the wife's car, and an oil and fuel filter change on the truck, as well as sundry chores around the old homestead.
I made my first run to Canada on Friday .... crossed at the Ambassador around 11:30 PM .... going in thru Canadian customs was a breeze ..... coming back over thru US Customs sucked big time ...... I found the people working there surly, rude and arrogant ..... is this the best we can come up with ?
I told everyone I encountered from initally paying the toll going over that it was my first time so help me out and give me a hint as I had no clue ..... the Canadian folks were helpful ...... the first guy I encountered coming back thru US customs said "Show me some valid ID" .... so I whipped out my drivers license. Then he asked where I was going and I replied "home" and gave the location. Then he asked if I had a birth certificate and I explained that yes I had one ...... but that the State Department had it (applied for my passport and they hadn't returned it) at which point he seemed somewhat more irritated. He then asked if I had a "transponder" on the truck ........ huh ? Not as far as I know ......
He then accused me of failing to pay a "transponder fee" ? I dunno but I paid the toll going over when they asked for it .... and I wasn't yet to the toll booth on US side. This guy then said he was going to let me off the hook and not ding me for it ..... well okey-dokey ........ whatever .......
Next I went to the US side toll booth and pulled up - the girl in there had the window half open and just stared at me blankly not saying a word ..... generally toll collectors at least make an effort to let ya know how much ya owe ..... apparently too much effort for this one so I just handed her a $20 and told her to have a nice evening when she gave me back my change.

PS I am very happy that I've moved up to a D unit - I LOVE driving it!

This weekend sitting in Flagstaff enjoying the nice hot weather.
Tomorrow picking up in Phoenix AZ when it is 85 degrees, running across to San Diego and then who knows, maybe stopping in La Jolla to enjoy the beach or up to Venture to park my truck at a friend’s house.
I know I will not be home this year for the forth and really won’t miss much.
