In a word, no. My reply would just be No but the forum won't allow a one word reply.

This will make coming north off the border a greater expedite challenge if Mexican expedite carriers start running north.

How does this aid the US economy?

Just follow the money. US companies want to hire drivers out of Mexico and have them operate for Mexican carriers. Of course, they leave out that many of those carriers are tied to US companies.
I don't think it is a accident that moves have been made over the last couple of months to drop license standards so they can get people in the seats quicker and cheaper.
They will all act surprised when this is discovered about six months from now.

They act like they couldn't find another way to stop the tariffs. Securing the border and a drastic cut in Mexican work visas that are just given to South Americans instead would have them thinking differently.

So basically, the way I understand it, is that big business has found another way to screw the working man.

Big business and government, since they are one in the same. Fix the imagined driver shortage and provide cheap employment for all the illegals we currently have. What could go wrong?

I can see it now dancing sombreros all over the dashboard and little puff balls adorning the visors
When does this fiasco start, I don't go to lorado but they will surely be migrating north

The article Dave posted said that the members of the pilot program rarely stepped foot out of the border zone, because their trucks would never hold up to our standards. I wonder if something is going to change to make them want to leave the zone. Lowering our standards is something this administration, and several before it, have no problems accomplishing.

I think once they figure out they can make money the better off companies will purchase better trucks vans and sprinters too in order to capitalize and improve somewhat
