hello all and happy mothers day to all the moms out there.

ok so here is the deal.i took a driving job and it is a 60/40 split.kinda what ever the load pays the fuel cost for that load comes off the top.the owner gets 60 i get 40% of whats left. he also said i get part of the fsc. its a stright truck with sleeper and a 22 ft box. the truck is getting just over ten miles a gallon.i went out for eight days just got back yesterday and ran 2100 miles.of which i sat for two in dunn nc waiting on my next load.the problem im having is that the company we are hauling for is jung express and they wont tell me anything as far as what the loads pay and my boss says he is not sure.he told me he was under the understanding that each load paid different.he said he has told them they can tell me what it pays so i can decide if the run is worth it or not.they still wont i can deal with that what i really want to know is if the 60/40 split with me getting part of the fsc is worth it.also i should say the owner pays all tolls and any other charges.all i pay for is my food and smokes. please help i really dont want to keep running only to find out im getting the shaft thanks to all and stay safe out there!

The general split on 60/40 is whoever buys the fuel gets 100% of the FSC and 60% of the pay. Extras like hand loading, lift gate work etc., should go to the driver. IMO

I wouldn't stay with a carrier that wouldn't tell me what a load pays. There is just no justifiable excuse for that.

Next, you and the owner need a "sit down"..

1st how long has this guy been n this business?? its hs understanding each load pays different!?!?!:eek: Yea they do, for sure....Next if the carrier won't tell you what a load payes before you accept it, thats a carrier I am loking at in the side mirror behind me as I leave for another carrier...

There is an excellent chance you will be very pleased with your paycheck from Jung, however, sighning and issuing blank checks to ANYONE is not a good idea.

Let us know how this blind trust works out.

Language and math need to be clarified:

In this case, Scenario #1, which you have said is 'your' scenario, you have:
-Jung carrier pays out to the truck owner
-Fuel is deducted
-Owner takes 60% and pays driver 40% of remaining balance

In Scenario #2 below, this is how it normally works:
-Carrier pays out to the truck owner
-Owner pays 60% of load plus 100% of FSC to whichever party is paying 100% of the fuel and pays 40% of load to the other party
-Whichever party got the 60% plus FSC pays all of the fuel

You can see that in scenario #1, it would work like this:
-Carrier pays out 100% to truck owner, say it's $1000
-Truck owner deducts fuel right off the top, to reimburse himself, say it's 20%; remaining load money is now $800
-Truck owner now gives driver 40% of remaining balance ($320), and keeps 60% for self ($480)
-Net result: Truck owner pays for fuel and gets $680 (68%); driver pays for nothing and gets $320 (32%); this is not even considering whether there was FSC; if there was FSC, then add that onto the owner's 'take' as well.

You do not have the typical 60/40 thing going on here. (And that is fine, if that is what you agree to run for, just want to be sure you understand what you're getting).
