After being on the Internet today for hours helping my stranded husband get his truck battery jumped, find a place to get a new roof and directions there , find a Truck Stop for the night close by, and find something to do for the out of service weekend (still working on that one), I'm wondering if there is a business potential out there for a company that Trucker's (especially Beginners) could call for this kind of service .. maybe one exist already .. what do you folks think.

I think this is something that is or was being worked on.
With regards to trailer or box repairs;
Check trailer specific shops in your area as some are 24/7.

Do you know who was working on it? .. maybe we could be Business Partners. I found it fun tracking places and searching directions, I think I would have to go out on the road for on the job training for a while to see what it is 'really' like. I'm sure you folks have various tool like GPS systems, generators, etc that could help with sonme of the things that I assisted him with but a Beginner dosen't even know all the 'necessary' tools.. we're learning.

It sounds like AAA for big trucks. As far as locating a truckstop there are a couple of good guidebooks. One is sorted by city/town name and the other is sorted by road number and exit number. Both are good. I buy a new one every other year alternating each year so it's either new or only one year old.

The Guidebooks are sold in any Truck Stop that has a Resturant, Garage, Etc... The red copy is more user friendly than the blue one. Lists all fueling stations in the country for big trucks, if they have fast food, full service, showers, repairs, hotels close by, check cashing, you name it for services that a driver would need.

You have just had some bummer luck. I believe that the dealer will and should stand behind these two items. If not spend $25.00 maybee a little more, draft a letter to the dealer and pay the dollar amount mentioned to have a lawyer put it on there letterhead. This will get the big managers attention and I guarantee it will get to his and the owners desk. A little nice note about how long, and that you do not care to take any further legal steps that taking care of this professionaly and timely will be most appriciated by you and your attorney.

Good Luck.

Ive found this site to be of big help

www.nttsbreakdown.com

truck,trailer,tire repair and truckstop locator

I hate to see anyone breakdown on the road.It often seems to cost way more than I can get repaired at home but thats not always an option.

good luck

I like the Exit Guide because it has more of what's at the exit than just truckstops. Downside is that it's interstate only. Streets and Trips has something that shows what's around the address you're looking at, but I hav'nt used it yet.

HI
Highway Star your missing the best part of Streets And Trips buddy.When I had it in the truck I used it to get the windshield replaced, to find good sit down restaruants, find parts stores, motels and places to park.Check it out the next chance you get.I've found some great mexican restaruants just off the beaten path.
