Is it really slow right now?

Any one else doing more sitting than moving? I had to take of over Christmas, no loads during the week before New Years, and another 3 days after that prior to getting a load. Did a few short runs, then took a load to Florida, sat and recycled, took a cheap load to get running the next week, then got stuck in Traverse City, MI have recycled three times on this wait..

Anyone else running out there??

Rikk,

It's that time of year once again!!!

I am sure some will disagree but we have been doing more sitting than running. We came back to work on the 8th and we will be picking up our 3rd run tomorrow - not good numbers as far as I am concerned. The load will end in NJ so we may just head home for a few days. This sitting really stinks!!! Hopefully things will start to pick up soon but as everyone knows, January and February are usually pretty slow! :( :(

We went back in service on the 8th and have had a load everyday excepting weekends.

Our experience is similar to CoCo's. We've been as busy as we can be. When we finish our current load, we may have to go out of service to because we may be out of hours and will have to reset.

When people talk about how slow or busy they are, or how much sitting or running they are doing, it would be helpful to readers, especially new ones, if writers stated their truck type, solo or team status, and carrier name.

Back in the day a "A" Unit was a Mini Van or a Pick up Truck with a Cap. I don't Believe anyone sill uses a "A" Unit anymore

I've been doing more sitting than driving, and if anyone besides me wishes I would get on the road, (& off the computer!), I won't take offense if you call Panther & say so. :p

I did three local runs the week between Christmas and New Years day. I left New Years day on a run and ran hard until the 11th, deadheaded home and was out of hours, took 4 days off and back in service tomorrow. Been good for me so far and can only hope it continues.

I would say reasonably busy, but not the hectic pace before the holidays.
Of course we were shut down and didn't start anyone back until the 8th.

Pretty dismal on the home front. 420 miles last week - dead headed home on Friday and still here on Tuesday evening. New company so wanted to give it 3 months but probobly should have left sooner. Last 12 week average - 1400 miles per week in a D unit. Would like to hear from anyone at C&M to tell me how they like it there My e mail address is [email protected]. Need to make a switch quickly.THANK YOU !!

NP, nothing could be more true. Get it while the gittin's good. Tho last fall, there's been more posts than usual about freight not being there. I'd bet there's no shortage of cargo from China, tho. Something Congress might want to sleep on, since they're used to sleeping on the job.
