A letter I got from Jandrugs regarding a recent Google policy change.
We believe that everyone has the right to reliable and affordable medication. We understand that for many of you the only affordable option is to order from a pharmacy like Jandrugs to get access to the prescription medicine that you need.
We are writing to make you aware of a Google policy change. Recently Google announced that they will no longer be allowing pharmacies like Jandrugs to promote their services in the US. While this in no way does this affect your ability to order medicine from a pharmacy like Jandrugs, that operates from Canada, it is going to make it more difficult for other Americans to find reliable and affordable sources for the medication they need.
Previously Google restricted paid advertising to real and legitimate pharmacies by requiring Pharmacychecker approval. A list of the Pharmachecker requirements can be found here. Jandrugs believes the Pharmacychecker program requirements provide a valuable framework to help consumers find safe sources for their medication online and to avoid rogue or fake internet pharmacies. Pharmacies found in Google's organic search results are not verified by Google, or anyone else, in any way.
What can be done?
You are Google's customer. Let them know that when you are searching the web for a pharmacy you want to find legitimate pharmacies, including ones located in Canada, that can help you safely save money.
Write Google
We don't want to put words in your mouth, but for convenience the below wording can be cut and pasted if you like.
Dear Google,
We understand that you have recently made changes that will soon make it more difficult for Americans to find legitimate Canadian pharmacies on Google. Millions of Americans have safely saved money on important medications by finding legitimate Canadian pharmacies on the web, and I when I'm searching the web for a pharmacy I want Canadian pharmacies to be included.
I understand that other search engines include legitimate Pharmacychecker approved pharmacies in their paid search results, and if Google does not I will consider using other search engines that do. Since Google's organic search results for pharmacies are not verified by you in any way you are making it more difficult for me to safely find the medications I need, at prices I can afford.
This policy change violates your "do no evil" stance.
Please reconsider your policy.
Thank you
We believe that Google was likely responding to regulatory pressure. If you believe in freedom of choice and that access to reliable and affordable medication is a right we encourage you to contact your federal elected officials and let them know that.

Write your Senator
Write your President
Again, we don't want to put words in any one's mouth, but for your convenience we have included sample wording below.
Dear (President Obama, Senator, Congressman)
We understand that Google has recently made a decision that soon it will make it more difficult for Americans to safely get access to medications that we need at prices that we can afford. As our elected official we encourage you to make it clear to Google that they should be working for the American consumer in this regard.
I believe the ability to safely access medications from Canadian pharmacies is my right, and anything you can do to encourage Google to prevent this policy change is appreciated.
Thank you
Thank you very much for your time. Jandrugs is blessed to have so many wonderful customers like yourself. Your support is greatly appreciated, and we hope you will give us the privilege to help you more affordably get the medications you need, long into the future.
