You can't make this thing up.
well, after a very long career of safe trucking, it finely hit me.
traveling heavy up to gross in Minnesota, a car hit my truck yesterday.
the other driver simply told police she did not see my rig. and fail to even look on the hwy while merging into traffic.
i did my best to prevent an accident, but you simply cannot stop a fully loaded rig on the spot, traffic was on the left lane, and there's very little to no room to marge in there. the small car simply drove into a steer tire. no damage to my rig. and this will never show on any record. the other car also have some very little damage. not enough to get insurance involved.
no biggy.
but we still needed to follow protocol. so police was called and a report was filed.
once i started to talk with the lady, she noticed an accent and asked me where i was from. ISRAEL i told her. that's when her eyes went spinning like this cartoon. she loughs and told me 'well, nice to meet you Mr. Israel, i'm from IRAN....
the rest of the accident reporting quickly becomes secondary to the weird event of an Iranian striking Israel in frozen Minnesota.
we had a lot of fun with it. even the officer could not believe our story.
& i did not know we had Iranians in Minnesota, yes she told me she lived in Minnesota for 35 years, and never imagined there are peoples from Israel over here.
i did not asked her this, but if my calculations are any good, she left Iran just before that country went upside down.
we now know much more about each other community over here, and we learned about a few more Mediterraneans restaurants here in the 2city's...
it was fun.
if someone is going to crash into my rig, i'd rather it be a cool interesting person.
who would've thought!.

She got a lesson in merging properly and Israel while you got to learn about your Iranian neighbors, sounds like a win-win situation.
