Insurance rates for you CV people...

Anyone care to say what their auto (not cargo) insurance costs them? And what limits do you carry?

Liability, comprehensive, collision, etc?

The occupational accident insurance I found seemed reasonable ( about 85 / mo), and the cargo insurance was real reasonable...

But my personal insurer doesn't do the right policies, nor any of the other insurers the agents I've dealt with before.

So, I've got apps in, just wondering what's a decent rate and what's a bad rate...

There's CIS and there's everyone else. Absolutely excellent service and good rates.

Rates for proper coverage on individual policy holders did go up a lot this year. There has been some threads on here discussing it you might find them using the search function.

I buy through load1 so sorry I can't help more.

You can go to progressive.com and click on commercial insurance and get a quote online. I used to get everything needed for about 2400 per van per year. but this years policy cost $5200 that's everything including 100k cargo 1 mil general liability comp, collision, uninsured, under insured, hospital, roadside assistance, and rental reimbursement of $50 per day. its a lot cheaper if you don't need all the federal filings but if your going for a MC number you do need the filing

Even with your personal vehicle / car you should carry at least one million liability and 50,000 property dammage other vehicles.
As an O/O and own authority, I will tell you good insurance that will cover your asz in the event of a wreck is not cheap. If you are a newbe and need the industry standard I would look into C.I.S. I ran with them for a few years and they write a good policy as they specialize in Expediters and thats a niche field. If you need somthing unique like high value coverages try Erie I had to swich because a customer required higher coverages. I have no problems going back to C.I.S. if things change.
