Insurance for Sprinter

During my research on purchasing a Sprinter, I am now down to looking at insurance.
I have Progressive on my S/T in my company name.
Non trucking liability, uninsured, pip, comp/collision.

I was told by Progressive that a Sprinter could not be added to the policy because it doesn't qualify for non trucking liability. I would have to have separate standard commercial auto policy because it could be used for personal use.

How do you all handle your insurance for vans and Sprinters?

The ins. carriers listed on EO can't help me because they don't write insurance in Maryland.

Your best bet, hire a vet! Please.

Check with Shelly at CIS. They called me two days ago and said that they were now able to combine my Sprinters and straights on the same policy. Saved me a HUGE chunk of change.

Shell it is. I'll give her a call. I spoke with them a couple years ago about the S/T. They couldn't write in Maryland, but maybe things have changed.
Thanks all.

You might want to check with Transport Insurance also. There on here some where.

I need $100,000 cargo and 1 million liability insurance for my Sprinter. I live in CA and need unlimited miles so I could expedite loads across the 48 states. Could anyone let me know who could get me insured?

Update: spoke with CIS, they now write insurance in Maryland. Progressive had a hitch in their computer system. CIS got it worked out, so now I have a new Progressive policy with them for the straight truck and when the Sprinter comes in, they will add that.
It was cheaper going with them than Progressive direct for the exact same coverage. Hmmm.
Thanks all!

It's definitely worth shopping. We have a Progressive agent here that consistently beats the socks off the other Progressive agents in the area. I don't know if it's different profit margins or if maybe some agents get certain discounts for whatever reason, but the rates can definitely be different....sometimes by ALOT.

I have mine with Gallagher, via Landstar .... I'll have to check CIS. I also ran into the same problem early on trying to get it with Progressive. Thanks for the tip :D
