I'm new to this site. Not quite sure how to use it. It said to introduce myself, couldn't find that forum. I need to see if anyone can help me find where to get an external GPS antenna for a Rand McNally TND500.
Would you direct me to the best forum for this type of info?

Check your user manual in the dock for the specifications, then look online. I tried getting the manual from Rand but gave up when I had to dl the dock in order to read the manual. That to me is just stupid. I guess they haven't discovered pdf's yet.

Not knowing exactly what is needed I came across a few sites like the one below that offer different configurations:

I have a TND500. It has started not being able to find and keep a signal. I called cust support they said to buy an external antenna, but I can't find one. Can anyone tell me where to look for one?

OK knowing nothing about radios, gps systems or anything else, when the unit doesn't start acquiring and locking the signal, is an external antenna needed or is there a problem with the unit?

I think this maybe a cop out and another one of them "need a hub to get an update" thing.

I have a garmin sitting right here, not near any window is picking up a signal and telling me where I am at.

Maybe someone over at Rand needs to step up and start putting together a more customer centric support group?
