Information on getting a used Expediter with sleep

Hey gang,

I was the guy who posted a thread regarding my F650 dilemma, and the need for a taller box and sleeper. After consideration, it has become quite clear that the way to go is to just dump the 650 and try getting a nicer used "real" long haul, expediter truck. I am quite certain that this has been covered over and over, but when I check old threads, I get thousands of threads that come up, and most dont have anything to do with what I am trying to find out. I mainly need to get information/ opinions on a good year, how many miles is ok, is one model better than the other, etc. If anybody could point me towards any good threads from the past, that would be greatly appreciated as well. Does the FL 70 seem to be the industry standard, or there other good alternatives. I am hoping to spend between 35- low 40's on a truck if anybody cares. Thanks again.

Check with Jon Mosier at Freightliner of Knoxville. They have lots to choose from and he is a stand up guy. Good luck to you.

What ever you get, make sure you buy a warranty! Nobody knows for sure when something good can go bad. If the truck does'nt qualify, step away as you probably don't want it. Good luck..

An easy start would be clicking the alumi-bunk link on this site . Also pick up the free truck sale papers at truck stops .

Yes, the FL-70 is the standard of the expediters, and more like the Ford Escort of the bunch... ie, you get what you pay for. A good place to find a truck would be truckpaper.com, as you'll find both dealers and regular owners. The other place I frequent is wfassets.com... Wells Fargo repo site. Things don't change often on there, but some of the tractors have been there so long, he'd probably make a killer deal for you. Then take it to Toes and get it stretched :D
Good luck!

RE: Information on getting number for "Toes"

we are currently shopping for the "ideal" class 8 tractor to stretch into a full time expediter for married couple. Live in Oakland County area of Michigan. How do I reach Toes?

Go to the "Class 8 Stretching" Thread under "Truck Talk." Toes posted a response in there, so where his name is, just click on the icon under his name for sending a message. Im sure there is an easier way, but this will work for sure. Could you guys let me know of your experience. I am thinking along the same lines, but am not sure when I will come up with the money for everything.
