In, out, and left at home

You put stuff in the truck, you take stuff out of the truck and eventually somthing gets left behind.

Because I cook in the truck quite often I am always taking ingredients back and forth between the truck and the house. I've found a good solution for small amounts and items. I use stackable bead containers. They can be found at any craft store in the beading section. Each section is threaded to screw onto the section below it. They come in many sizes. I have a small one for spices, a larger one for cornstarch, flour, sugar and salt. Not only does it allow me to leave the original containers at home in the kitchen, it saves space in the truck.

That's a good idea! I'm always trying to think of ways to save space in the truck. Just last week, we bought one of those books that holds CD's...to put DVD's and games in. It saves a lot of space instead of having DVD cases taking up room on the shelf. Little things add up. I can't wait for winter to be over and not have to carry extra clothes like sweatshirts and bulky jackets. I've had to come to the realization that I can't bring lots of shoes with me..:(

Coco, what a great idea! Another thing about that is that it will keep those spice/salt/pepper containers from dropping out of the cabinet onto my head every time I open the cabinet door. I use bungy cords but the small items still fall out. Now if I can just find the containers at a craft store. I don't do crafts and I always feel lost in a craft store. I just know those employees look at me and KNOW I don't belong in the store. Ha! Maybe I can find them at WalMart. I'm always welcome at a WalMart. :)

My uncle showed me a thing he bought at wal mart about the size of a big salt shacker. It was subdivided inside and had various spices. Like salt, pepper, garlic, and something else. You just twist the top to the one you want and sprinkle. He said he found it in the outdoors camping section of wal-mart.

I looked at Wal Mart and they do have a few. However, Wal Mart is phasing out their craft section. Within two years the craft and sewing section and that space will be used to expand the electronics.

Anyway if you go to a Michaels or JoAnn Fabrics and go to the beading section, you will find any size you want. And they also have the round sectioned ones too.

Use your alter ego and go in there like you own the place, you can do it India!;)
