St.Joe Peir as of last weekend was producing little ..I know we stood on the south Peir the whole weekend and went home empty handed...Very few white fish where brought in on the lake side.
No one we spoke to stated seeing any salmon in numbers yet..Water temp on lake side was 34 to 36.. River side was very muddy, took 6 ounces of lead to hold a tight line on the river side..
Some boats where heading out,,mostly small boats trolling near the surf and breakers on the south side of peir..
I thinking by nex weekend the run should be well under way if it countiues to warm up..Hope I stay busy this week,,,because Im marking off work as soon as I hear they are running :D

P.S,,thanks for the forumn,

Speaking of Ice.... They just announced that with the snow and rain this past season the water levels on Lake Michigan and Huron have rose up 13 inches. All a good thing

Yep that is good news espically since the reach of my net is just a lil short for the end of the peir,,LOL,, gotta try to walk the bigger fish towards land a bit to ensure a good netting..

Really good news for the duck ponds,,lets hope the ground water hold these levels thru the fall.

Glad to see those two big lakes are up. Let's hope Erie stays where it was. We are JUST now starting to see the re-growth of the cattail marshes. With Lake Erie a very levels historically, even as low as it seem now, there has been little to no marsh re-growth. The only marsh left in Michigan waters is inside the dikes at Point Moullie. It is having very bad affects on our duck migration levels. Numbers of birds are really dropping off, even in good production years. Layoutshooter
