It wasn't Frozen Turkeys on WKRP......they were "Farm" Turkeys that had their wings clipped.......

The Frozen Turkey scenario came from a Spoof of that episode in some other show / movie.......can't remember right off the bat................

But.............YES............Turkeys CAN Fly. They're NOT Migratory Birds.......more Territorial.......and that's why people rarely ever see them fly.

Go out hunting Pheasant someday in West Texas and come across a Family of Turkeys (They're usually in packs of 12-15-20 or so) just as you're taking a shot at a Pheasant you rustled out of the High Grass................you'll learn real quick just how fast a Turkey.....or all 12-15-20.......can get OFF THE GROUND and into the Air FLYING!!! (in other words.....they'll scare the CRAP outta ya..............it's like Bowling Balls FLYING your way!

Yes Turkeys fly and very well. Actually pretty amazing to see them fly thru a wood lot. They roost in trees and nest on the ground I believe. And occasionally come to rest on vehicles. I hit one once in a Oldsmobile 98 as it came out of a tree and it did a fair amount of damage to front clip and right fender.
