I actually feel sorry for this woman and the State of Arizona

Actually no one seems to remember what happened here in Michigan with the state of the denial address a few years back.

Our great governor made a few comments that she pretty much lied about - how we are going to be wowed! in the future and so on. There have been others too, and this shouldn't be a big deal.

So I can't feel pity for Brewer as much as I can feel pity for those who make a big deal about it.

We could play this back and forth game all day long but I think the point has been made that ALL make mistakes....some have a greater consequences than others but they DO all make them.

Adding a second thought....we've all corrected each others gaffes right here on this forum......hmm.

So should I gather that you are defending Mrs. Brewer on the subject of the beheadings?

As much as these politicians speak they are bound to make mistakes. Those were all good examples of were the President misspoke (definition: Express oneself insufficiently clearly or accurately). Not quite sure how you can compare the Presidents statements you listed to Brewers? She didn't say anything, it wasn't a gaffe and she didn't misspeak. She was supposed to make an opening statement and didn't say anything, I mean come on. The same goes for the way she conducted herself about the question of the beheadings, she didn't answer the question.

No, you should not "gather" anything about my posts, here or anywhere else.

Perhaps you would have felt better had she used the old SHRIMP excuse....

I'm not making excuses for anyone, I'm merely pointing out that everyone makes mistakes, even those that some believe can walk on water.

So you are saying that Jesus made mistakes, too?
And if you don't think anyone should "gather anything" [ie: form an opinion] about your posts, why bother?

Oh please, you know fully well that my reference to "walking on water" was aimed at those that considered Obama some kind of messiah.....talk about reaching.

I don't think that witness was "gathering" as much as he was assuming and we know what that's all about.

As I was skimming the comments section of dieseldiva's, "We're buying shrimp, Guys. Come on" story", I found this comment and a great BBQ shrimp recipe to boot!! Enjoy.

The last US combat brigade has left Iraq August, 2010

Tapper we all look forward to Next Tuesday night, the president will deliver an Oval Office address at 8 pm ET, in which he will mark the occasion of the withdrawal of US combat troops from the country ... Much better then a reporter doing their best to get a 3 second sound bite here and more informative.

But this article was worth it because I'm cooking shimp right now and what to share the recipe with everyone -

Barbecue Shrimp recipe

ingredients List:

5lb shrimp, shelled.
2lb butter.
4 tablespoons chopped parsley.
4 teaspoons cayenne pepper.
4 teaspoons black pepper, to taste.
2 tablespoons chopped rosemary leaves.
2 teaspoons fresh-squeezed lemon juice.
Half cup of Worcester sauce.
6oz beer.
5-10 cloves garlic, finely minced.
1 medium onion, finely minced.
3 ribs celery, finely minced.
Directions:

1. Melt a stick of the butter in a skillet.

2. Saute the garlic, onions, celery, parsley, rosemary and seasoning blend for about three minutes.

3. Melt the rest of the butter.

4. Add the beer.

5. Add the sauteed stuff, Worcester sauce and lemon juice.

6. Drown the shrimp in the seasoned butter, using as many baking dishes as you need.

7. Make sure the shrimp are more or less submerged. If they aren't, melt more butter and add to the sauce.

8. Bake in a 350F oven until the shrimp turn pink (15 to 20 mins).

9. Serve in big bowls and put in a handful of shrimp and ladle lots of the spicy butter sauce over it.

Sorry but a governor of a state has nothing to worry about, we have the most embarrassing arrogant VP in our history who can't keep his mouth shut - Joe Biden. A lot of people would love to have Dan Quayle back in office.

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'" - Joe Biden

"Stand up Chuck" - Joe Biden

"Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me." - Joe Biden

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man." - Joe Biden

"You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.... I'm not joking." - Joe Biden

My favorite ...

"Why don't you say something nice instead of being a smart-*** all the time? Say something nice." - Joe Biden

It's an AVOIDANCE OF THE QUESTION.....

*sigh* I guess I will have to be my Academic Elite self and point out the differences. One was during a debate for the Governorship of the State of Arizona on live TV and the other was during, albeit, one of many vacations the President has taken. You have to remember also, he was delivering a Oval Office address that week about the very thing the reporter asked him. Also, Brewer wasn't even asked a question, it was her introduction and then, later on in the debate she avoided a question. Just a comedy of errors. Again, I felt sorry for her.

Sorry, I have no need for you to point out anything, nor is there a need for this conversation to go on and on and on, other than you seem to confuse the difference between honest debate and needing to get the last word on any subject you're involved in.

I don't really care who was doing what and where they were doing it, the point of the thing is that we ALL make mistakes, we ALL have brain farts, and some but not ALL of us avoid questions. When you and other people INSIST on pointing out the mistakes of folks on the right, you're going to get some stuff back at you concerning the left and there's plenty to choose from.

I'm sure Gov. Brewer would chuckle that you have the time and energy to feel sympathy for her but she would probably ALSO tell you just what you can do with that sympathy.:D
