The West bound lanes on I-40 West Bound right at the NC/TN line are closed due to a rock slide ! Maybe closed for up to 2 weeks !

Who wants to bet it is down longer than that. That area is prong to rock slides for many years. Just look at the last time this happened, this one is only a few miles from the last one. As they cleared that one, more problems came to light....

I just came across there last night on the east bound side and there where a lot of trucks going west.

this is happening too many times lately, and shutting down a major east-west artery....the time has come, bulldoze the smokey mountains....oh, and ban the van.
It is open. Went through there Friday night, right lane close for about 1/4 mile for other road work. Had no delays.
