Hot summers, especially in Texas and Louisiana, sucketh the big one. But -20°, -30°, I don't care. I've got an Espar heater.
Good LONG, HARD, COLD winters make for GREAT ice fishing. Does wonders for the spring walleye runs too. They are always better if there is good ice cover. Slow evaporation on the lakes over the winter too. It costs less to heat a house than cool it. You have to cut grass in summer FAR more than you have to shovel snow in the winter. I don't see a down side! LOL!!
Looks like this storm may fizzle before it gets to the U.S. mainland, if it even does. La Nina is going to eat it up soon.
