For discussion purposes we'll presume an individual has been on vacation and is just coming back so they have their full 70 hours available. From the time the individual initially goes on duty, presumably doing the PTI on the truck, they have 14 hours allowed to be on duty. Of that 14 they are allowed to drive 11. Let's say they go on duty at 08:00 and do a PTI for 15 minutes. At 08:15 they begin driving. They must go off duty no later than 22:00 and they must not drive more than 11 hours between 08:15 and 22:00.
A team is just two individuals working together. Presumably while the one individual is doing their on duty time the other is off duty. When the first person goes off duty the second one starts fresh with 14 hours available to be on duty and 11 hours available to drive.
Factoring in things like fueling, pit stops, eating etc. it's safe to presume one individual will go beyond 12 hours on duty before exhausting their 11 hours of driving so theoretically a team can "drive" around the clock.
It gets more complicated when HOS rules of sleeper berth time are thrown in and that may be changing in a couple of weeks so I'm not going there for now. It could confuse things more than clarify them if it does change in 2 weeks. I hope that helps at least a little.
