If you are contemplating what Carrier to sign on you might want to give Bolt Express a call.1-866-873-2658. Bolt is smaller then Fedex and if you are just starting out you will find more of a laid back atmosphere. Not to take anything away from the FED but in the beginning a hands on approach works well.

We have had very good luck with FedEx Custom Critical. We learned the system fast by asking a LOT of questions. If we saw another FedEx truck we would find the driver and ask a million questions. Read on the forums and also find a mentor and you will be set to go. Keep an open mind and just ask away!

the col is right,just depends on you and more so luck,also what you are driving.if your going to have a horse as a pet,it better be a very tall truck,but seriously,I feel better when I work for a bigger company,as they have their freight in a larger market,meaning less deadhead and keeping busier,although,if your going to be in a B unit,the market is flooded,in all the companies,so good luck.

The replies above hit the mark. Fedex is one of the leading companies in Expediting and I believe have the largest fleet available. This allows customers the satisfaction of knowing that when they call Fedex there will be trucks available to meet their needs. Having said that, then it is entirely up to the individual O/O to decide when, where, what, and how much they want to accept and to earn. You can make a very good living if you chose to and am willing to work for it.

I am also happy here with no plans to change.
The short answer is yes you can make a living.
If you are a solo you will struggle until you learn the system. DO NOT go into this on a shoestring budget with no financial back up.
