How is Expediting going?

Hi All,
I have been gone for awhile but, I was wondering how business is going with the economy the way it is? I have heard that freight is down across the board. I have been doing some local driving for a fertilize company. Not going to last to long and was thinking about the expedite industry and if anyone was hiring solos for straight trucks. Thank you for any help or suggestions that are giving.

Also if you go to thar forum, you will see several threads with titles like, "May Locations" and "June Locations". Those threads will give you and idea of how freight is moving to some degree based on the location of the drivers as they post where they are and where they delivered and how long they have been sitting...........

Reading relevant threads on EO [in General, Newbies, Ask the Recruiter] will give you some idea of how business is lately. I wouldn't put too much faith in how long folks are sitting - sometimes, they have a list of "don't wannas" that keep them there, or other reasons that don't have to do with freight availability, ya know? There are also plenty of other sources for updates, like the driver magazines at truckstops to peruse as well.
As for who may be hiring solos, it's best to call potential carriers and get the current truth, because it can change from day to day.
