Hiya Dave,
Yea, the Pistons are less frustrating. Hockey seems to be more prone to upsets. I thought it was going to be Calgary or San Jose who knocked us out. Those opinions are why I don't bet on sports. The Pistons only lose to better teams, which I can handle. Basketball is pretty much a sport where the best team wins. Glad the runs are going well for ya.
Hiya Cheri,
I'm also glad you're keeping busy. As for why I'm going part time, it's partly because I want a more balanced life. I'm taking martial arts & those classes are Tues & Thurs at 7:30 & Saturdays at 11. Plus, I'm back into poker. I was looking at taxes & last year I made 40K expediting. This involved the travelling we're all familiar with. I like expediting, but I can't say I love it. The last year I played poker, I made 18K doing something I loved. After expenses, the difference between the two jobs really wasn't that much.
Once I actually sell my sprinter, it's at a dealership right now, my expenses will be about $700/month. I simply want to work MWF delivering freight & play poker the rest of the time. Expediting will be the sure income needed to pay my bills in case I lose & poker will be the supplemental income. Or at least I hope. Right now I'm down about $300 as I write this, but that's in part because I'm learning new things to become a better player. Not sure if that makes sense, but to make an analogy in golf ya might have a pro help you w/ your swing. At first you might play a little worse until you get the hang of your new swing. I'm learning new techniques at poker & trying to implement them. I'm making mistakes along the way, but I think in the long run I'll be better off. Before I made my money by simply playing better cards than my opponents & showed down better hands at the end. That was limit poker though. Now I'm playing no limit tournaments & need to be able to vary my game some.
Hope this answered your question.
Happy driving,
Danny
