Everybody has had time to work with the new hours of service rules for quite awhile now, and I´d like to know how you´re dealing with it. Are any of you seeing any substantial decrease/increse to your bottom line over time because of the rules? Let´s hear from singles and teams.

No problem dealing with the 11 / 14, and as a solo O/O never really used the split sleeper. (but it did come in handy when delayed at a Shipper / Receiver)

Now as far as loads go, I think it has had a drastic effect on the available loads for a solo. Not that the loads are not there, but they all seem to be going to teams now.

Just my 2 cents, keep the change.

I believe that the companies have lost a lot of teams due to the 10 hour rule. Example last Monday at 1100 Fedex CC had 7 D units and 3 E units on the Newark NJ board. There was only 1 team ,and I have seen this reduction in teams through out the year in many locations. There are O/Os that are partially retired and do not wish to drive themselves into a heart attack caused by stress from long hours behind the wheel.

I myself have run solo for the past year and there are times when the 14 hour rule has gone against me and there have been times when I welcomed it. Biggest problem is getting a early pickup offered out in the evening that is maybe 150 miles away. You can't leave at 2000 as then you will hit the 14 hour clock at 1000 the next morning so you have to leave at 0400. The split sleeper berth provision could have allowed you to leave at 2000,get some rest at the pick up and do the trip rested.

The times that i have welcomed the new rules is after a long difficult day I know I have the whole night off.I would say income is slightly off with the new rules.

Dispatchers still do not seem to get it.

I have been running solo ever since the new rules went into effect. They still try to dispatch with delivery times past the 14 hr limit.

I seems their software tells them its legal.
