Hello folks. As this is our second posting I'll be brief about who we are and the goals we hope to achive....

We are rookie team drivers looking to get on with the best training possible,to get on the road quickly and start our new carriers. We are in our mid 40's and want to change direction with our job situations.I being a musician and Kim being a home care giver,we both want/love to travel and are very much looking forward to getting into expedite trucking as a team and boost our incomes at the same time.We hope to some day be o/o eventually and are looking forward to future.

We need advice from people who have started from the ground up on where to go for schooling and training in driving straight trucks for xpediter companys.Since we both live in Indianpolis,we are seeking a place close to home for this training.

We will be keeping an eye out and studying past threads in this forum for all the help we need since it looks like this is the place to go for information.

Thanks in advance for all who take the time to reply.

Awe ok then..
1st study forum archives and obtain the CDL handbook.
Study for the written tests Commercial driver, Hazmat and Air brakes then take tests for learners permits (enables you to drive legal with a licensed driver)..
Then the options are open to renting a 24' box truck to practice basic driving and backing (preferably a truck with air brakes so as you can practice pre trip inspections as well).
For more info on the above see
Indiana CDL - DMV.ORG
There are training sites for CDL class "B" but I honestly can't remember where I happened to see them..
When Cyn and I started I already had a CDL so training for her was not a problem after she obtained a permit..
We were allowed the use of a truck and a position with Conway contingent on Cyn successfully completing her road test which she did (eventually :)
Just throwing a few ideas out there.
Good luck
Mike

If I'm not mistaken I think there is a company called Expedite Solutions or Expediter Solutions that does training. They advertise here on this site. I also think it's mainly open for same household teams. I'm not for sure but I also think they are located in the Mid West. They have trucks leased on to Panther and Express 1 I think. It would be something to check into.

I just went and looked at their web page so I'm editing for that purpose. They are out of Indy. If you click on "Find Jobs" at the top of the screen it will pull up a screen with a list of carriers. Click on Expedite Solutions and it will tell you all about it. I don't have any personal experience with I just remember seeing it on here and thought about it when I read your post.
