I was just in Meijers so I checked this out. On the box it said not suggested for use of microwaves, computers, & refrigerators. I'm not really generator savvy yet, but why wouldn't it be ideal for those uses?
Dunno, since it's all a matter of wattage. A laptop won't pull much at all, and even a desktop with a CRT monitor won't pull much more than 400 watts at most. A fridge, that one can be a lot if it's a full size fridge. With a fridge that's pulling 750 watts (a big 16 cubic feet frost-free fridge), you have to figure three times that for startup, which is too much for that generator. Some microwaves are like that, too. Anything with an induction motor can cause an overload at startup if the generator isn't a high wattage generator.
If you have something else running, even a light, and a fridge, TV, microwave cuts in, it can trip the overload. But a coffee maker will pull between 900-1200 watts, a hair dryer about 1500-1875, and an electric heater 1500 watts. Obviously you won't want to run a heater while making coffee while watching TV.
I can't imagine that to be much of a problem for most folks out here. A 3000 watt generator would be better, but if you are careful, 2000 watts should be fine. It has two 20 amp outlets, but only puts out 16.7 amps total, so keep that in mind. 2000 watts / 120 VAC = 16.7 amps.
