The "green power" wackos, aided by the Federal Government, are going out of their way to destroy the environment and wildlife habitat in the name of "Saving the Planet".

Back by more shaky government load guarantees, 2400 acres, of Arizona desert habitat are going to be covered up by a solar panel "farm".

Here is how it works. If an individual wants to impact habitat, or an endangered species, the Federal Government sends in armed troops to deal with it. IF a "green power" plan wants to do EXACTLY the same thing, the Federal Government loans them money that they took from the guy who wants to graze his cattle and then sent in troops to stop him.

Mr. Environment, Obama, (just like Mr. Peace Prize), has NO problem destroying wildlife habitat in an effort to save the wildlife, (make a lot of money for HIS billionaire buddies, you know, greedy, evil corporations) but uses the entire might of the Federal Government to STOMP on individuals.

Want MORE proof the left wing radical environmentalist Obama does not give a rats patute about the environment? The locks in Chicago are STILL open but they are doing ANOTHER study on how to keep Asian Carp out of the Great Lakes. Obama's rich, fat cat, billionaire buddies will keep making money and everyday, individual small business owners will lose their lively hoods. The ecosystem, known as the Great Lakes could be damaged beyond repair, but that is of NO concern to Mr. Environment.

Makes you think the world would be much better off if certain people mysteriously vanished. Maybe the aliens that beamed up Hoffa will beam again.

Three weeks ago I drove right by that solar farm. It's impressive. As big as it is, and its really big, it's not much of an impact on desert habitat, and certainly not on any endangered species. Particularly when you notice that surrounding the solar farm is many more times that amout of acreage of agricultural farms that have utterly destroyed the desert habitat. It's not even desert anymore.

IF it was not need for agriculture any more then it SHOULD have been returned to it's natural state, assuming one is a "true" environmentalist that is.

There are MILLIONS of acres of roof tops that could be used FIRST, to build solar arrays. That land has already been destroyed. THEN and ONLY then should open land be used for them. They are NOT environmentally sound, they are money losers, and can ONLY exist IF they are heavily subsidized by tax payer money.

These sites are ONLY being built to make profit for greedy corporations. They are not all that environmentally sound to begin with, not all that good at producing electricity, and butt ugly. Even MORE butt ugly than those stupid, heavily subsidized wind generators are.

I think they should put solar panels in all of the highway medians. That way they don't have to cut the grass and when a tractor-trailer flies through the median it'll be spectacular.

Wind generators. The ones that look like tall baskets. Then the draft from the passing vehicles could turn them when the wind is not moving.

One of the design concepts. :D

I was thinking more along the lines of the vertical axis models, down the median strips. No clearance problems. I am all about using up already "destroyed" areas and leaving as much "natural" land free and clear of BS.

Like wind turbines on cemeteries or golf courses. Require all new construction to have solar roofs etc. Every mall.

They're putting solar panels on the sound barrier walls along highways, and on noise barrier tunnels now, too.
