Brave traffic warden ! ... keep up the good work :p

A car used by the former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton received a ticket for parking for 45 minutes in London without paying.
The £80 fine was put on the silver Mercedes as Mrs Clinton attended an event at Chatham House on Friday.

Her security staff were seen discussing the penalty notice with a Westminster Council traffic warden, but he refused to remove the ticket.

A Westminster councillor said: "We have to be fair to everyone."

Westminster City Council cabinet member for business Daniel Astaire said:
"The former US Secretary of State was parked for nearly 45 minutes without paying.

"I'm sure she will understand that we have to be fair to everyone, regardless of their status on the world stage."

Mrs Clinton was awarded this year's Chatham House Prize in recognition of her contribution to international diplomacy and work on behalf of gender equality and opportunities for women and girls.

She has not commented on the ticket

Obviously doesn't have his testicles in Hillary's lock box.
This guy might be a super hero or unemployed by now.

It should be noted that Hillary didn't park her silver Mercedes limo, her security staff did.

It should also be noted that Hillary isn't the only American diplomat to rankle British authorities with regards to traffic violations. Earlier this summer, British Foreign Secretary William Hague said the U.S. Embassy had yet to pay 63,000 congestion fines. American officials say diplomatic immunity shields them from the charges.

The congestion fine is £10 (about $13.53). So the tab for 63,000 congestion fines is $852,390.

Except a penalty of between £60 ($81.19) and £187 ($253.05), in addition to the fine, is levied for non-payment. So the total could be anywhere from $5,966,730 and $16,794,540.

Makes that $125.00 NYC parking ticket look cheap. Ether way, being a diplomat elitist is no excuse for breaking the law.

It does not matter if she or one of her security staff parked the car, SHE is still responsible. She is the boss, she is responsible for insuring that her staff knows where to park without getting a ticket. IF she is unable, or too arrogant, to park legally, she, personally, must assume all responsibility for any fines her car is given. If you or I were to park illegally we would have to pay the fines, get towed, whatever may happen. She is a private citizen, tough luck for her.

So you as a passenger would be personally responsible for when your taxi gets a ticket? Because that's precisely what you are saying. You're the one paying the fare, so you're the boss, so you are responsible for ensuring your driver knows where to park, how fast to drive, all of it, everything. It's your responsibility for any fines your car is given.

Was it her car or a rental? IE limo service?

Considering she doesn't live in London, it's highly unlikely that she would buy a Mercedes limousine to use while she is there, much less buy one just to drive it to the Chatham House to receive an award, and it's even less likely that she shipped a limo across the Atlantic for the occasion. So, what do you think?

I have NO idea. I would guess she may have rented it. Then again, she is an admitted felon, she just as easily could have stolen it. Put nothing past her. Either way, every thing that she gets involved with is shaky. It is reasonable to assume it's her fault and she should have to pay, double in her case, just cause it's her.:p

Actually, it's quite unreasonable to assume that.

What? That she rented it or that she is an admitted felon who is capable of committing crimes at will and has a history of not accepting responsibility for her actions?

She believes she is above the law, as do many politicians, and I have little doubt she, as do many politicians, would do what ever pleases her at the time, legal or not.

No, that it's her fault. Everything else you have brought up is completely irrelevant to the topic. Everything.

No it's not. She supports Obama, Obama is always wrong, therefor so is she! That makes her doubly wrong, an admitted, arrogant felon AND an putz! :D

Maybe, maybe not, but in any case, it doesn't advance the discussion. It alters it, as in, you know, hijacks the thread to some other topic.

Welcome to the "NO Fun Zone". :p I will behave, no matter how boring it is! :(

Hijacking threads where people are engaged in an actual discussion is not "fun" for the others involved, it's actually quite boorish behavior. Not 'boring', but boorish. Look it up.
