Hey DD:)...I'm doing good, but not going to do the expedite thing..at least for now. I posted on another thread last week explaining my present situation. http://www.expeditersonline.com/dcforum/DCForumID1/2315.html

Keeps me from retyping :)

I do have a question for you if you don't mind, since I'm fairly sure that you probably use a GPS mapping system. I had bought a co-pilot system, but never actually used it. I have it on ebay for sale (link is in the thread posted above). I have had several people ask if everything is included. As far as I know it is. It has a CD for the software and a GPS reciever (with suction cup for the windshield), and a USB chord to plug the reciever into your laptop. Is that all that is required to operate this system?

I have had a lot of questions about this and feel that I am answering honestly when I tell them they will be getting everything they need, but I would love to have some confirmation from someone who is actually using one.

Thanks, Arky

Arky,

Post that GPS unit in our classifieds - then post a link to it on this thread. Best wishes in your new job.

Hey Arky! excuse me DD ! but I have Copilot truck and it seems that you have everything needed! there are a couple of things that need addressing though so here goes! which version is it? I don't know what the first version I have is but the newer one is Copilot 2003, the receivers have changed, the new one is hardwired to the usb cable and the older receiver unpluged from the cable which pluged into both the mouse port and I think it was called the 9pin plug on the laptop,

I had to buy the updated receiver because the new laptop did'nt come with a mouse port (lucky me)also it may have to be registered with ALK because they won't just send someone a new receiver or replacement cords without being registered Heck they made me send in the old receiver that went bad before they'd send out a replacement one.

Hope this helps in some way!

Be carefull out there!

This cable is seperated from the reciever, but as long as you have a USB port available it will hookup. I think you can order the 9-pin connector (serial port) if needed, but i would think most laptops will have a USB port?
This system does have a key code on the CD case to be used for registration, although, I didn't register it. It is the 2003 version.

Lawrence, I never thought about it, but yes I should have tried out the EO classifieds. It's above my reserve on ebay..can't back out now!..lol. I'll have some more stuff that might be of interest to expediters in the near future that I will definitely post on the classifieds. I'll be selling everything I gathered up to build the truck with (24' box, frame rails and driveline for the stretch)..hmmm, I guess that's it...except for the truck I suppose..lol. I'll be selling it too.

Thx for the response Sharp!,

I started using the Co-pilot system about 6 months ago. I have always used PC Miler, and Co-Pilot is from the same company ALK. It is the best thing I have used so far, and I have the latest updates. New versions have USB port receiver, a standard on modern laptops and that looks to be a later version Arky is selling with the USB setup. All inclusive with updates, I have about $500 into the Co-Pilot software. So to purchase new it's not cheap, but by far not the most expensive thing out there, and it's street level mapping and voice directions make navigating fun, especially for a solo driver who has no one riding shotgun to look at maps. The software is easy to learn just by good old point and click experimenting.
