Can a cabover truck be considered a expedite truck and does anyone know of a company i can sign on to that works primarly the south and/or southeastern region only for a str truc

Yes, cabover trucks can be used as expediter trucks. The attached photo shows one. Most expedite companies require sleepers but exceptions are sometimes made for regional work. I know our carrier (FedEx Custom Critical) has certain trucks that work certain regions to do short runs in the regions. You might want to check with recruiting to see what, if anything, they have going on for someone interested in regional work in the Southeast.

An Argosy or International etc. can make very good trucks. The UD, Isuzu, Ford LCF etc. aren't really built for this type work. They are mostly a class 5 truck I believe and while they can usually manage a C units 5k load they are meant for local work. On the highway they are the diesel version of a rice rocket buzzing and straining at high rpm and sounding very overworked. I have seen 1 running for Panther and it looked very uncomfortable. I'd try to save up more and get into at least a class 7 truck.
