We are happy to announce we have a new moderator helping us out in the Women's View!
Judy Avery, known as pelicn, is very familiar to the posters in the Women's View, as she's a frequent poster there. She is a former OTR team driver. Her husband drove on his own for 2 years, and after going along as a passenger a few times, she decided to join him. They spent another 2 years driving as a team and also hauled a recruiting trailor for their carrier, hitting truck shows, job fairs etc. They then made the switch to expediting, driving for a fleet owner leased to Panther.
They built a new home in NC and decided to take a break from the road,and spend some time at home for a while. She says they quickly realized the local jobs were much less profitable and interesting than expediting! They are going back out on the road the end of July when their fleet owner gets a new truck finished for them.
They have 3 grown sons, and 2 grandkids, and Judy always says that Grandchildren are the reward for letting your kids live!!
