I read an article 2 weeks ago this issue was resolved state of emergency was applied for and the water source was the reconnected to the Detroit system and flushing of the system was being done....and fresh water was restored... time to help the victims who were poisoned i would say...
Great effort ....to all.

flushing the system....actually I've seen any town do the same on regular maintenance of hydrants....dirty water gathers here and whatever the schedule is they clean the system...

The real crisis now is the people who are infected/contaminated with lead poisoning that test positive down the road....They will need financial help...

The pipes are damaged and still leaching lead and the water still tests bad. Changing the source and flushing the system did not solve the problem for now. I agree the long term health issues are a whole different story but we are trying to do what we can to help with the here and now problem.

Well this was the local Home Depot partnering with us. You can send donations to the Red Cross in Flint, that is where we are taking the water too.
