Good Luck sounds like you are doing your homework! Many of us are here to answer questions that your wife might have also on living on the road.

Welcome!

Welcome to EO! A big cyber pat on the back to you! Very few newbs seem to use the site the way it should be used. There's so much here, all you have to do is read. You really seem to have a grip on things. Waiting until August is a real good idea. Hopefully, things will be starting to pick up by then. You'll be able to use that time to your advantage, not being rushed to make something happen.

So, again, welcome. And, your typing skills are just fine.

We drive for an awesome fleet owner, Judd Transportation out of TN, unfortunately he doesn't have trucks with Panther. However, our previous fleet owner is a really, really good owner as well. Has new trucks, great people to drive for. If you look on the home page of EO they have an ad there. Expediter Services. We drove #420 for them for 16 months, very honest good people to drive for. Downfall is their trucks aren't really really comfortable like the one we have now. They have Kenworths (we drove a T660, only had 214 miles on it when we got it). The Kenworth we were in doesn't have all the luxuries like the one we are in now but still a really good truck. Another good factor is a lot of their Panther trucks have lift gates and reefers so that opens up more loads for you and also ups the truck from 1.35 a mile to 1.65 a mile. In your place I would definitely give them a call. I'd be willing to bet they will take you right on! :D
We would still be driving for them but our friends called us to see their truck (just like ours now, it's a condo on wheels) we got selfish and very disloyally jumped ship to get one like it. (Still feel a little guilty about that as Expediters are very good people). Luckily the owner of these trucks are good honest people also.
I'm not sure but I think (don't quote me I could be wrong) T-State requires 3 months driving experience. Anyway, you really really should give them a call. Guaranteed you'll love them! :D
