heh heh...can't tell which smells better...the rhubarb strawberry in the oven...or the smell of cinnamon and apples simmering on the stove...:)

This should be illegal. You should be banned for making us slobber all over the keyboard. :D

I have my ways...*snickering*

Just trying to stay ahead of the garden..just freeze dried my chives and thinking I need to pickle more beets cuz OVM loves them..and I do NEED to get the rest of the rhubarb put up. Have a feeling I might need them after all my bragging...*LOL*

Oh...and the pickling cukes are about ready and I have found a recipe on how to make Claussen pickles...my favorite!

We went WAYYYYY overboard with our garden! Since this is our first, I like to consider it a test drive for what's realistic next year. At least we should have a ton of tomatoes to can... and salsa to make. ;)

I did the same thing the first year we were here..had lots of land so I figured...why not? The simple fact that we were only home about every 4-5 weeks and the fella that watered the garden while we were gone didn't know a cornstalk from a weed...aka he didn't "do" weeds, made it a total disaster.

Went about a third of the size this year and it's just about manageable for one. By the way, when you get tired of canning tomatoes, you can just wash them and freeze them. I LOVED that tip! But I did find a barbeque sauce recipe in the Ball canning book that does look scrumptious!
