Health Insurance

I am wondering if there are any companies out there that offer health insurance other than Bolt Express. Thanks

That's a pretty good question. Every company I've talked to, so far, has considered drivers "contractors" and not offered any type of insurance.

If not a company, is there any groups that could get us coverage? (OOIDA, AARP, etc.)

Before you sign on the dotted line, make sure you know what you are getting. Look at your past medical expenses and make an informed decision.

I'm also looking for insurance that is affordable and will actually do something for me. All of the insurance policies that I've looked at will not cover my pre-existing conditions. Which can get rather expensive, but does not happen every month.

I would look at options through OOIDA, AMAC (Association of Mature American Citizens) and any other available organizations before AARP. AARP is a bunch of bums who screwed seniors over health care for their own gain. AARP can't be trusted.

I would strongly consider Blue Cross, but it depends on where you live. I'm in Michigan, and pay $374.04/month for an 80/20 policy after a $2500 deductible, with a cap on annual out-of-pocket expenses of $5k.

I just got out of the hospital 10 days ago, and was there for 5 days with 5 different doctors working on me, in a different state. I knew before I left that I would be forking over $7500, for what I'm sure will be a six-figure bill.

Was that directed at me, Jack?

If so, mine is full coverage from BCBS Michigan (or almost as full as I can get being self-employed, I believe).
