I have looked for some info regarding this subject but could not find anything....
Me and my husband will be needing health insurance shortly after we begin driving/expediting in February, can anyone recommend an insurance company that may offer some good AFFORDABLE coverage? Since we willl be responsible for purchasing our own coverage.....

Depending on your age, Medicare works for me! How about Blue Cross Blue Shield, AFLAC, Niase? Too name a few, or try your insurance agent. Good luck and please let us know if you find any bargains?

I think the key word in your post is 'affordable'. GOOD LUCK! I have BCBS. Not cheap, but they don't discriminate against pre-existing conditions and since I will need a knee replacement someday thats a good thing. Also, if you're a long way from home and in an emergency room, it's nice to have something everyone knows.

Yes, you are right, highway star, affordable would be the key word BUT I'm afraid that is asking too much sooo...BCBS may be the way to go...

Thanx,

go to ehealthinsurance.com. Clark Howard says this is the best site on the internet for health insurance. Clark Howard has a national talk radio show. His main concern is preventing consumers from getting ripped off. You may visit his web site at clarkhoward.com

Stay away from Mega Life that you will hear advertised on XM. They are truly crooks and the agents will lie and tell you anything to sign a policy. My experience was that I was told there was a $3,000 deductible on the policy.I asked the agent was this a yearly deductible? He said yes. Turned out to be a occurrence deductible so if you had several unfortunate situations ,you could be paying out big bucks. I use the VA and my wife has a HMO with Atena.
OOIDA has some good plans, check them out.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my health question.
I am trying to be as prepared as possible before I begin my driving career. I have also been waiting since 1997 to "get back out on the road"...then my "career" lasted one month, my husband at the time just did not enjoy it the way I did x( 1997 was OTR T/T so expediting will be a new beginning...:7
