You may want to check into a medical savings plan. Those are for catastrophic bill only, but, could be something you could use, if you, are in reasonably good health. Boff ya.

I've got blue cross blue shield through ehealthinsurance.com that's not totally outrageous. I'm 50 and decent but not perfect health and pay $115 a month. I'd have to come up with about $8k max out of pocket no matter how major the event. The only drawback is the $3k deductible means my 1 or 2 trips to the dermatologist or whoever all come out of my pocket. I got it for the just in case biggies though so it does what I want it to.

we have no med ins. i'm 57 and she is 55. when my wife goes to the allergist and her doctor she just says up front she has no insurance. amazingly with no insurance they cut a 50% deal up front with at least half at time of service. same with the hospital sessions of tests. if you say no insurance but can pay over time they are willing to work with you.

we rely on GOD to keep us safe and away from the traumatic accident and the rapture for the retirement plan. told my wife if she doesn't want to greet at bigbox-mart(go to jib-jab) we have to start driving a truck now.

sorry, i mis typed in the above statement. it is not 50% but 25-50 dollars off the office visit when you say you have no insurance.

On the road? Two of you?

Leo is correct, even for one hundred or less a month for any coverage would be a GIANT ERROR.

BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD is HONORED ACCEPTED and not ARGUED BY ANY HOSPITAL, DOCTORS OFFICE or what ever.....

Everything else is marginal at best EVERYTHING.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.... AND there are many, many, affordable plans. HEALTH INSURANCE IS A LARGE % of anyones income who is not super rich but if you got a small fortune, or net worth lets say 200K or more one illness could put you in BANKRUPTCY. Its a gamble to go with out CAN YOU AFFORD TO LOOSE A LIFES WORTH OF INCOME/SAVINGS over an insurance premium. Example, Lou G dieses, cancer, Diabetic, stroke, the list goes on and on. If you got a savings you better have insurance.

If no savings than go gamble but sooner or later 99% of us will be treated for something that will be EXPENSIVE, very expensive. The other 1% well they are lucky enough to just die in bed with no advance notice they are a ticking bomb ready to pass away. Some have all the luck about 1%.
